After a while, I noticed that Mickey looked like he had too much eggnog, or mulled wine, the night before... day after day. A drunken Santa? Clearly, Santa had fallen down on the job and couldn't get up. Sadly, this Christmas tale doesn't end well.....
Well, the good news is that the "real" Santa will return next year and, as far as I know, the "real" Mickey Mouse is alive and well, dividing his time between his two homes in Florida and California. Santa's demise? Evidently, the reports of his death were greatly exaggerated.
Keep smiling... it makes people wonder what you've been up to! (OR, it makes people wonder to what you've been up? Nope - still dangling a preposition!) Anyway, keep smiling and have a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My personal opinion? Mickey should stay in Disneyland/world, and stay out of a Santa suit.
I have been looking at crumpled, deflated Christmasy figures in my neighbor's yard for a month now. Once in a great while, they are blown up. Mostly not. So sad.
Bobbie ~ you're right... enough of this blurring of lines, morphing one childhood icon into another... a veritable homogenization of treasured paragons.
As I drive around the North Shore, I frequently observe collapsed snowmen and slouching Santas. Not a pretty sight, most of the time. I see from your comments, this is not a unique phenomenon. Less is more, when it comes to outdoor decorations, as far as I'm concerned.
A few years back neighbors had and inflatable winnie the pooh and a donkey in their yard - during strong winds it looked like they should have been behind close doors.

Too funny, Ralph!
Deb, I haven't understood the phenomenon of the large, inflatable objects in the yard. They certainly aren't attractive. Children can't play with them. Hmmmm.
Me either, Shady. They're bobbing about in the wind or lying helpless and flabby, upon the ground. I'll keep my big door wreath, with clear mini lights, thank you very much... and never look with envy upon these holiday inflatables. (No accounting for taste!)
